How it all began

The idea of Reggie came to me back in 2019 just after my father died, he was a great believer in the benefits of dogs being used in therapy and mental well-being. We always had dogs in the family and our house was always happy because of this.

After the passing of my father I decided to begin a project to find and train a “Therapy Dog" with the overall plan to introduce him into my work environment, The Fire Service.

Mental Health and support in this profesion is often a second thaught and truma care is very often little more than a cup of tea after an incident.

So began the search for the perfect dog, we believe we found it with “Reggie”. An F2 double goldendoodle. Reggie was purchased in June 2020 as an 8 week old pup and since then has been trained to become a therapy dog and is acredited with Canine Concern.

Reggie’s CV is growing constantly, he has worked for Notts Fire and Rescue as a CRISIS intervention dog helping crews after traumatic incidents and we are currently working towards him being a regular part of the occupational health team this process is a "Work in Progress" but we have belief that Notts will follow other Fire Services and introduce Therapy dogs to benifit the service and its employees. We currently have on file testimonies from dozen's of firefighters who have championed the benifits of Reggie.

Outside of emergency services Reggie has worked with Cygnet Health Care helping people with head injuries and mental health needs, again this has been recieved well by the clients and we hope to continue our work with Cygnet Health.

Reggie has visited care homes and schools and has had great reviews, please feel free to check out our social media sites (links at the top of the page).
